| This brick-faced retail space was built on the edge of Moore Square, an urban green park, in downtown Raleigh in the 1940s. With two large windows on each side and a main entrance in the middle, the building originally housed a furniture store. The façade retains its original sign band in the middle with brick medallions on either side (these medallions currently encircle the playful Duck logo). Empire Properties redeveloped this property in 2002 under the historic properties tax credit program. The Duck & Dumpling restaurant, a showcase for the talents of Chef James Yott Boyle, currently occupies this space.
