Ben joined Empire Properties in 2008 as a broker, later taking over as Broker-in-Charge as Empire’s Vice President of Asset Management, representing Empire Properties with select real estate projects including portfolio leasing and evaluating speculative purchase opportunities.
Ben has a bachelors of arts degree in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Spanish from UNC-Chapel Hill. Before joining Empire, Ben worked at Paragon Bank (now TowneBank) working with commercial real estate finance and deposit operations teams. He has a N.C. Real Estate License, is a graduate of Leadership Raleigh (Class of 31) and a member of Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors. He serves on the Southeast Raleigh YMCA Board and Race Equity Committee, and has served on the Junior League of Raleigh’s Advisory Board, the board of directors of Me Fine Foundation and Visual Art Exchange (VAE) and on the City of Raleigh Retail Task Force.
He also is the owner of Steel Projects, a real estate development company he founded in 2020. As a broker at Empire, he was a five-time winner of the Busy Broker award for most commercial real estate transactions in the region by the Triangle Business Journal and a three-time winner of the Most Transactions Award by the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors. He was named a 40 Under 40 recipient by the TBJ in 2016.
