Val joined Empire Properties as Construction Accountant in 2021, handling full-cycle accounting for Empire Hard Hat Construction and Empire Historic Developments. She maintains contract documents and she manages job-related cash flow. She works with Empire’s Director of Construction to ensure the company is in proper compliance, including preparing and analyzing job cost reports and investigating variances. She also develops and maintains relationships with key business partners and subcontractors and is the liaison for Empire’s audits and reviews.
She has a high school diploma, specializing in Accounting and Architecture. Before joining Empire, she was a project accountant at Bobbitt Construction in Raleigh and a project accountant at Holt Brothers Construction. She has more than 25 years of experience in the accounting and project operations industry.
