Boylan-Pearce

216 Fayetteville Street
Raleigh, NC

Originally constructed in 1910 for the Boylan-Pearce Department Store, 216 Fayetteville is composed of three above-ground stories and a full basement level, totaling approximately 26,000 rentable square feet. The ~6,500 square foot floor plates are open and flexible to meet the requirements of almost any space user. The building is full of historic character--high ceilings, hardwood floors, plaster walls, plaster ceilings surrounding reinforced concrete structural elements, a central historic stairwell, restored windows, and to-be-opened light wells and side elevation windows. The building underwent an extensive façade and storefront restoration in the last decade, but the rest of the building requires a full shell renovation to modernize building systems and restore the aforementioned interior historic elements. Empire plans to undertake a historic tax credit rehabilitation in 2022.
